Where’s Mitch Ngo?

August 25th, 2009

Attention everyone: Mitch Ngo has gone missing! Mitch left in search of developers for his Priva CMS project, and has yet to return. If anyone has information on the whereabouts of Mitch Ngo, please email findmitch{at}mitchngo.com

Mitch Ngo has been a part of our hearts from the beginning, and even though he is currently missing, I am sure we will find him shortly.

For any of those that are still interested, Mitch’s last known locale was heading toward University Puget Sound in Washington, but could be anywhere. Mitch is often found exploring new areas, and getting into bad cell phone reception areas, so he may just be unavailable.

All this comes days before the release of Mitch-WorksTM, a plugin for wordpress that will allow direct streaming from blogs, while minimizing bandwidth use. In this way, a blog can be signed up for an RSS feed of, Mitch Ngo’s Development Blog, for example, and only the headers and excerpts are transferred to the host blog. Instead of merely linking to the other blog, and having the page change, this would allow a seamless, Ajax powered, process to download, cache (for later viewing), and then integrate the full post on the host site. This allows developers to link to offsite content, while still keeping users on your page, instead of Mitch Ngo’s page.

With Mitch Ngo’s Mitch-WorksTM (to be renamed later, Mitch-Works is just the codename), you will also be able to load content from a multitude of preset blogs, and any blog or XML content can be easily integrated, as long as you know the target. (It will have AutoDetect, but in the case of custom content, you will need to specify which tags you wish to use).

And it doesn’t end there! With Mitch-Works, you can also seamlessly load ANY web content into your wordpress blog. In posts, the syntax would look like:

<!-- © Mitch Ngo 2009-->
<!--wp_mw_getpost[http://www.mitchngo.com/feed]-->

Simply as that! Oh ya, Mitch Ngo just arrived and says thank you all for reading! We need your support!

Mitch Ngo Reveals Priva CMS’s Secret

August 23rd, 2009

Welcome back Mitch Ngo Followers!

Today, Mitch is going to unveil the secret behind his Priva CMS strategy. We are in desperate need of of developers, so please, contact privacms{at}mitchngo.com to join the development team!

The secret, Mr. Ngo says, is that we will be taking apart wordpress, improving its coding to ensure less calls to php{4,5}, less queries on the SQL database (faster load times) and enabling “Special Pages” which utilizing the existing “pre-fab” templates wordpress contains, except you will be able to write fully functional applications (or mini-apps) within the original software design, instead of having to create your own template.

Also, Mitch Ngo has noticed that when running multiple Wordpress installs on a single shared hosting account, it tends to slow down ALL of the websites. This is why it is crucial to update the way the Wordpress engine functions. Unfortunately, this will not (at least at first) be merged into the WP Tree, it will be a separate project, Priva CMS. Priva CMS aims to have all of the functionality of the aforementioned software along with the capabilities of raw PHP and Smarty.

Thank’s for reading.

Best regards,

Mitch Ngo

Mitch Ngo unveils new project: Priva CMS!

August 16th, 2009

On Saturday, August 15th, Mitch Ngo, along with Mitch Ngo.com are unveiling a new technology called Priva.

Priva, Mitch Ngo.com is a CMS system designed to utilize the best features of both Wordpress and Joomla, ultimately aiming to be as easy to use and publish as wordpress, but with maximum power, plugin engine based off wordpress (aka wordpress plugins should be compatible), but without the limitations of Wordpress. Even though its simple to configure, style, and post pages in wordpress, it is more difficult to write dynamic pages, and making templates, or themes is clumsy and cluttered.

GNU Technologies has been launched, with Priva as its star product. It is likely going to be GPL v2 (or 3) and will focus on making it easy for trusted publishers to write dynamic pages, such as forms, shopping carts, etc, while still keeping normal publishers from including code in their pages which is a very dangerous security risk. Mitch Ngo recognizes the importance of these features which is where he first got the idea in the first place.

If you are interested in learning more about Priva, or want to be a part of the development team, send us an email at: Priva@Mitch Ngo.com and we will reply within one (1) business day.

Once again thanks from Mitch, and everyone else here at Mitch Ngo.com!
